We just got back from visiting Adventureland outside of Des Moines IA and the Amana colonies which are near Cedar Rapids. It was a good time for all. We pulled the camper along for a place to sleep. We spent most of a day on Monday touring the colonies, checking out shops and enjoying some good food. And the girls had the opportunity to get several naps in on the ride to and from Amana. NICE!!! Then all of Tuesdays was spent at Adventureland. It was a nice walk over from the campsite--and we were there almost when the gates opened. We rode the train first, then when crazy trying to see which ride to do next, and next and next. The girls had a good time. We took a little break in the afternoon, going back to the camper for a snooze. Then we ventured back over to the park to check out the Waterpark--Kokomo Cove. It is really just a bunch of slides and sprinkers--but that didn't stop Seanna from having a good time. Cassidy was not really that thrilled by it all, so her and Jared spent most of the time lounging on the chairs waiting for Seanna and me.
Overall, it was a very good vacation. However, we have decided that the girls need to be a bit older to get the real benefit of all that rides there. Definately something that we will keep in mind.The campsite:
